BLACK FRIDAY???

We did not do Black Friday as sales are so slow on Friday at the mall. Instead we did Black Saturday as it gives people a chance to hit the Wal-Marts, Targets etc. and then hit us on Saturday. And let me tell you the marketing strategy worked wonderfully. We had customers lining up starting at 6am and we did not even open until TEN!!! Next year we will open earlier for it. We had record sales that day for 2008. Just something to think about for next year.

GRETNA GROOMING OPEN

There is a new pet grooming business open at Nebraska Crossing Mall. It is near the atrium. They opened October 1st.

10% off for mall employees at many mall stores

Most of the mall stores give mall employees 10% off their purchases so do your Christmas shopping right there at the Nebraska Crossing Mall and save money too.

There is a Ford Mustang Car Show on September 14.2008.

NEW STORES COMING?

Tim said they are working on two more places at the mall but could not tell me what they were. From "Mall rumors" I heard one may be a pet grooming place. Nothing is in stone yet. If you know a store, coffee shop, eatery etc that you like togo to, talk to them about moving to Nebraska Crossing. We are all desperate for more retail locations so business will pick up and we all need to work together on getting more businesses to come to the mall.

PONTIAC CAR SHOW IS THIS WEEKEND AND SIDEWALK SALES

This is a VERY popular car show so plan to be busy this weekend. Also we are having mall-wide sidewalk sales. Please send out e-mail blasts to your customers to let them know.

NEW STORES

Home Decor and Patio is finally open and the store is hopping with customers which is great to hear! Also Teddy Bear Connection is open. They are like a Build a Bear Store.

We are also getting and Indian Motorcycle store which I went down to talk to them as I did not hear anything was coming but seen they were working away in the spot that used to be the Auction Center. This will be the only Indian Motorcycle shop which will be a good draw for customers.

If anyone hears of anything else new coming to the mall please let me know so we can share it with the other mall employees.

The first email blast will be going out soon. If you have any special for your store you would like included in it please email or fax them to Tim. It would be nice if each store could have some kind of special to be included in the first blast as if there is not anything worth getting in an email people tend to unsubscribe. We need to give them incentives to stay on the list.

HOME DECOR AND PATIO TO OPEN MAY 10,2008

Donna said that their store will open Saturday, May 10th. We are happy to have a new business at the Mall. Also a man from Florida stopped by our store and talked to me about 45 minutes about moving his business to the mall. He has a patio furniture business. I think it would compliment Home Decor and Patio.

MEMORIAL DAY

Just a reminder to everyone that the mall will close at 6:00 pm on Memorial Day.

WII GIVEAWAY

The winner of the Wii for March was Sue Schraeder of Beatrice. The next drawing is April 30.

NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY IS SATURDAY

Precious Treasures is having a big event for National Scrapbook Day which is Saturday May 2. Drawings held every hour and a c three day crop that will run from Friday at 5pm and end on Sunday at 5pm.

THE TEDDY BEAR CONNECTION WILL OPEN SOON

The Teddy Bear Connection will be opening in 30-45 days. It is down near the Osh Kosh Store. It is sort of like Build a Bear which you may have seen them as they had a space in Wal-Mart. Kids will love this store. I think that whole end of the mall is geared toward kids. With the new Childrens Treasures and The Polka Dot Giraffe has added lots of toys to their store also.

ATRIUM INFORMATION

If you have not been down to the atrium after the renovations, you have to come check it out. It looks beautiful and will hold 300 people. Keep it in mind for you parties, reunions, weddings etc. The Atrium is run by Scott Rupnow, phone # is 706-8983 He is an excellent caterer and I have heard nothing but great things about him.

Scott has been awarded the catering contract for the Movie "April Showers" that will start shooting in Plattsmouth and Omaha in May. The link to the movie is aprilshowersmovie.com. Interesting site. Reading the blog link gives you a good idea of what it takes to make a movie.

Home Decor and Patio will be opening in just a couple weeks. I have peeked in the windows and cannot wait as they have beautiful items in there. :)

3 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE FIRST Wii DRAWING

One of the ladies at the Paper Outlet suggested stamping your entry blanks with your store name if you wanted to find out if it was one of your customers who wins. It is kind of late for this months drawing but you could do it for the April 30 drawing.

WII GIVEAWAY

Note from Tim:

We are about to start the Nintendo Wii "register to win" promotion. The following is a short review of the event as well as the schedule.

We will be giving away 2 Nintendo Wii game consoles, 1 in March and 1 in April. Customers will be invited to enter in participating stores. The contest will begin on March 6. Drawing for the first Wii will be March 31. The drawing for the second Wii will be April 30 at which time the contest ends.

Participating stores will be given an entry box and entry blanks.

IMPORTANT: If your business does not want to participate, please let me know!

This intent of the promotion is to start harvesting email addresses for our new email blast that is currently being developed, so urge everyone to put their email addresses on the entry forms. There is a line on the form for email addresses.

I will be bringing the boxes and the entry blanks to your store on Tuesday, March 4 or Wednesday, March 5.

We hope that this promotion helps stimulate spring sales and increases Mall traffic during March and April.

BARGAIN MART OPENS FEBRUARY 9th

CHILDRENS CONSIGNMENT STORE COMING

A customer came in and told me a childrens consignment store is coming to Nebraska Crossing. I called the office and Tom verified they have signed a lease. They will be by the Polka Dot Giraffe store.

MALL NEWS

The toy store is down to their last few days. If you need fixtures it is a great time to get them at a great price.

Saturday January 25 Precious Treasures is sponsoring a crop that is a fundraiser for a church building fund. There are 68 ladies signed up and you know when they crop they take breaks to go shopping. Lets hope it is a good weekend for everyone. I f you are running any sales or have fliers bring them to Precious Treasures and they will stuff bags with them.

Any news on when Bargain Mart will be open?

Do not forget we are all to have coupons to Tim by the end of the month for the event at Mahoney State Park. Also the Welcome Center has requested coupons.

THE WORD "OUTLETS" WILL BE ADDED TO THE WATER TOWER

Randy said that it was approved to add the word "outlets" to the water tower. It will be put on two sides so it can be seen from both directions on the interstate. They will start work on it as soon as we have 50 degree weather. See photo below.

There is a web site I had found that is not affiliated with Nebraska Crossing or First Management. It is www.mallseeker.com which has the most up to date information I have found when searching for Nebraska Crossing information. There is still a lot that is incorrect or outdated. Please check your store information on the site to see if it is correct. If not go to the bottom of their website under "contact" and email them your information. We want people to be able to find our mall if they are travelling to the area or live in the area.

Home Decor and More signed their lease

Tim stated that Home Decor and More has signed their lease and has their keys. They will be moving into the bay that Mikasa once leased. Let your customers know it is coming so they can be checking back at the mall often to watch for it.

Mall Marketing Meeting

• All stores wanting to participate in the Mahoney State Park Valentines event are to have coupons to Tim by the end of January. (140)

• The Welcome Center has requested coupons from stores that they can give out to visitors.

• Discussion of ads and coupon sheets. Tim is looking for ideas to get an email list going. Suggestions were to give away Mall Gift Certificates or prizes to get people to sign up. We could do a web site for people to sign up and once they sign up they are sent bonus coupons as a reward.

• New Business': The Mexica restaurant is on hold. The The Polka Dot Giraffe has opened next to Osh Kosh. They sell handbags, Webkins, jewelry and soon will be adding Peggy Karr. Bargain Mart will hope to open at the end of January. They will sell tool and also home items.
